Challenge

The Pro Football Hall of Fame had refreshed its exhibits, technology, and programming for several years. The Hall of Fame had not conducted a significant fundraising effort since its early inception in 1963. In 2002, the dynamic Pro Football Hall of Fame staff and board was eager to utilize their strong relationships and community momentum on a larger scale. We were engaged in planning and facilitating a $25 million comprehensive campaign for renovation, exhibit expansion, and endowment.

The
Solution

A case for support was developed to showcase the facilities and exhibit renovation as well as the impact of a dramatically enhanced program and outreach initiative. A feasibility study was conducted resulting in the recommendation of establishing a development office and facilitating a campaign with a $25 million goal.

Our Impact

The Cramer & Associates team conducted the search for the first director of development and created the functioning policies of the development department. In close coordination, our team assisted in the establishment of the membership program, major gift program, and other campaign elements. The campaign strategy combined a demonstration of solid philanthropic commitment from the local region and a national engagement of NFL team owners. A leadership committee was established utilizing board members at both the local and national levels. The campaign had to coordinate with the NFL season, team owner gatherings and ensure cohesive relationships with the league and Hall of Famers. The campaign team worked diligently to ensure transparency and inclusiveness for all members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame family.
