Makenzie Freshly

Director of Marketing & Communications

“Marketing and communications are the tools through which our partners create opportunities, expand their reach, and make a bigger impact. I love coming into work each day knowing that I get to help the firm and our partners showcase their personalities and purposes to the world.”

Makenzie Freshly knows firsthand that marketing has the power to multiply fundraising results. Her thorough understanding of digital, written, and visual communication benefits our clients and our firm every day.

Prior to joining Cramer & Associates, Makenzie led the strategic marketing efforts of an Ohio-based financial firm. Now she uses her marketing expertise to help nonprofits share their mission, message, and impact with potential donors. She develops innovative campaign marketing plans that work hand-in-hand with Cramer’s custom fundraising strategies, ensuring that our clients meet their campaign goals. With her guidance, nonprofits enhance their reputations and develop strong philanthropic brands.

Makenzie is currently spearheading campaign marketing for the Sandusky State Theatre as they prepare to reopen after a catastrophic storm destroyed the auditorium in 2020. She maintains a consistent cadence of email newsletters and social media posts that keep the community engaged in the fundraising and construction process. Also, she recently worked with the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) to update their brand, create marketing materials, and launch fundraising for their 20/20 Vision. At her urging, the Bishop started a weekly video series to highlight major events and share stories of impact with more than 500 congregations, fostering a culture of philanthropy and a spirit of generosity across the denomination.

Makenzie ensures consistent representation of the Cramer & Associates brand through a variety of channels, including social media, digital presence, newsletters, graphic design and more. She enjoys facilitating effective communication about the amazing work that takes place in the nonprofit sector. Her skills shine through to everyone who visits the Cramer website.

Lifelong learning and growing is a top priority of Makenzie’s, and she strives to leverage her own knowledge to empower those around her. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications and Sociology early from Miami University of Ohio.

Originally from Northeast Ohio, Makenzie resides in Powell with her husband Tristan and travels to new places whenever she can. She loves trying new recipes out at home (especially homemade pasta) and exploring the vibrant Columbus restaurant scene.
